Matrons to receive gazetted officer assignments at central, regional, and state-level hospitals

According to the Ministry of Health, 137 matrons will be appointed to central, regional, and state-level general hospitals, with the benefit of enjoying the pay scale of a gazetted officer. These matrons will be assigned management duties and responsibilities and are required to complete a three-day nursing management course.
Additionally, they will be expected to conduct lectures on nursing ethics, staff rules, and the compassionate treatment of patients, in addition to their main duties and responsibilities. — TWA/MKKS
