Liver transplant continues second day

The second day of the third liver transplant conducted by Tatmadaw took place at No 1 Tatmadaw General Hospital (1,000-bed) in Mingaladon Township, Yangon, yesterday. The surgical team, consisting of Tatmadaw medical professionals, performed the liver transplant on patient Daw Nyo Pya Lwin and her daughter, Ma Nyo Ya Wai Htoo, who also acted as the donor. The liver extraction process commenced at 10:30 am, and the transplant surgery was successfully completed after an intense 11-hour operation at 5 pm. Currently, both patients are receiving specialized care from a team of experts, paramedics, and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and their condition is stable and showing promising signs. — MNA/KZW
