96th founding anniversary of Chinese People’s Liberation Army celebrated in Myanmar

The ceremony marking the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was held at Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon yesterday evening.
Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, the Yangon Region Command commander, regional ministers, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai, Military Attaché Senior Colonel Wang Wei, other military attachés to Myanmar, relevant officials and invitees attended the event.
On arrival at the ceremony, the Chinese ambassador, the military attaché and families of the embassy welcomed the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and party.
After the ceremony had been declared open, Military Attaché to Myanmar Senior Colonel Wang Wei made a greeting speech.
Then, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and his wife, the Chinese ambassador and the military attaché cut the ceremonial cake together and had a documentary photo taken.
The Chinese ambassador and the military attaché had dinner together with guests and presented gifts to them. — MNA/KTZH
