DPM MoD Union Minister makes inspections in Sittway, Myebon, Pauktaw

State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo, who accompanied SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on his Rakhine trip, inspected the rehabilitation processes in Sittway, Myebon and Pauktaw townships yesterday.
Together with the Deputy Prime Minister on his inspection tour were Union Minister for Union Government Office Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Deputy Ministers, senior military officers and departmental officials.
First, the Deputy Prime Minister and party inspected the ongoing and completed maintenance of Mocha-hit buildings and barracks at the No 12 Security Police Unit in Sittway Township.
On arrival at the Sittway Airport, Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Lu Maw reported on the damage to airport buildings, staff housings, completed rehabilitation processes. In his response, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need to do cleanup activities at the airport and buildings, both sides of the runway and near the locations where the planes stop.
The Deputy Prime Minister and party visited the Myanma Posts and Telecommunications and Deputy Minister and state MPT manager reported on the completed repair of communication failure in the storm, communication system, office buildings and staff housing. Then, the Deputy Prime Minister and party looked into the erection of a temporary tower and a new tower in the office compound.
They also proceeded to the jetty of Myanma Port Authority and Myanma Economic Bank. They also inspected the office tasks, treasury and police patrol for bank safety.
They also met and comforted the members of the No 36 Security Police Division and their families and provided cash assistance.
Then, they met with the township departmental officials, town elders, ward administrators at the Township Administrative Department of Myebon Township and Brig-Gen Kyaw Kyaw Soe assigned in Myebon Township reported on the lists of losses in the storm, systematic sending of relief items and rehabilitation processes.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the unity of the departments concerned in serving their tasks and called on the departments to work together with the town elders and ward administrators in carrying out the rehabilitation programmes and regional development.
The Deputy Prime Minister and party also oversaw the safe of Myanma Economic Bank and comforted the bank staff.
They met with the township departmental officials, town elders, and ward administrators at the Township Administrative Department of Pauktaw Township. Brig-Gen Sunny Ohn explained the arrival of recuse and relief items, systematic distribution and rehabilitation tasks.
In his response, the Deputy Prime Minister made instructions regarding the efforts for education, health and religious buildings on priority after the storm, distribution of agriculture and farming equipment, high-yielding rice grains, better communication and electrification. — MNA/KTZH
