China, Myanmar to deepen exchange in culture

The China-Myanmar Cultural Exchange Conference was held on 7 July at the Chinese Culture Centre (Yangon) with more than 70 attendees to deepen mutual learning and exchange.
Counsellor Mr Pan Feng from the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar emphasized that President Mr Xi Jinping has proposed a global culture proposal, calling on people from different countries to unite and enhance cooperation, address common challenges together and respond in time to critical needs.
“The proposal includes four sectors: to respect the world’s cultural diversity, emphasize cultural inheritance and innovation, and increase friendship between peoples of different countries. The China-Myanmar two countries are connected by forests and mountains and have long and deep cultural and personal ties. Practising global culture proposals in various arenas of Myanmar is essential,” he highlighted.
He also expressed his willingness to make efforts to spread China-Myanmar Pauk-Phaw Friendship.
U Ohn Maung, Chairman of the Myanmar Press Council and Myanmar Writers’ Association, underscored that they are willing to implement the three proposals together with China and deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of Sino-Myanmar media and literature.
U Yan Win, President of the Myanmar Tourism Federation, said that under China’s proposal and guidance, China-Myanmar tourism exchanges will resume as soon as possible in the post-pandemic period.
Myanmar International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University Pro-Rector U Sein Maw and Yangon University Pro-Rector Daw Cho Cho also participated in the discussions at the conference. — TWA/KZL
