Myanmar U-20 Women’s Team advances to Asian Cup U-20 Women’s 2nd round Qualifiers

The last day of the first round of 2024 Asian Cup U-20 Women’s Qualifiers Group (G) continued on 12 March in Cambodia, where the Myanmar team won two consecutive matches and qualified for the second round. Team Myanmar yesterday won the last match of the group against Malaysian team by 3-1. The Myanmar squad defeated both Cambodia and Malaysia in the group matches, successfully qualifying for the second stage.
Myanmar head coach Daw San San Thein yesterday made some changes to the starting lineup that played against Cambodia.
Team Myanmar line-up includes Goalkeeper May Oo Khin, Khin Htay Kyaing, Phyu Phway, Phyu Phyu Win, Kyel Sin, Wai Hnin Phyo, Sandar Lin, Nang Cho Hmwe, May Thet Mon Myint, Hnin Pwint Aye, and Yin Loon Eain. Team Myanmar took the lead in the 19th minute of the game with a goal scored by Wai Hnin Phyo, but in the 57th minute, Nufa Sari scored an equalizer for Malaysia, and the match was tied at one goal each.
After that, the Myanmar team tried to score a winning goal, and Yin Loon Eain in the 80th minute and Wai Hnin Phyo scored the winning goals in the 85th minute. In the group matches, the Myanmar team beat the Cambodian team 1-0 and the Malaysian team 3-1. They finished first in the group with six points and qualified for the second round qualifiers.
