Over K4 bln worth of stimulant tablets seized in Tachilek

Over K4 billion worth of stimulant tablets were captured in Tachilek township in Shan State (East), Myanmar Police Force stated.
A combined team consisting of members of the Security Force examined a Nissan diesel 12-wheel auto driven by Sai Aung Latt accompanied by Wai Yan Htun heading to Tachilek from Kengtung at the Mae Yang checkpoint in Tachilek township at noon on 4 March.
Officials captured 10,170,000 stimulant tablets worth K4.068 billion in the yellow polyethylene bags that were hidden in onions and groceries in the car. After interrogation, the offenders admitted the seized drugs were carried from Mongping to Tachilek.
Police took legal action against the offenders and an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime chain. — MNA/MKKS
