Religious titles offered in Myitkyina in conjunction with dry ration offering ceremony

A ceremony to offer the religious titles for 2023 was held at Anndawshin Hilly Region Missionary Monastery in Myitkyina in Kachin State yesterday morning. The ceremony was honoured by State Sangha Nayaka Committee Secretary Dhamma Rekkhita Wuntho Monastery Bhaddanta Ketumala and the senior Buddhist monks, the title recipient monks and the senior nuns.
State Administration Council Member Daw Dwe Bu, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nang, Northern Command Commander Maj-Gen Ko Ko Maung, and officials offered the day meal to the Sayadaws.
A title conferee Sayadaw delivered Sammo Daniya Ovada Katha whereas State Minister for Social Affairs U Win Ye Tun supplicated religious affairs. Next, the State Chief Minister, the Commander and the responsible personnel offered Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja, Ganthavacaka Pandita, Saddhamma Jotikadhaja titles and insignia to the Sayadaws and nuns.
Afterwards, the Buddhist monks and the nuns were offered the dry ration by the Chief Minister and wife, the Commander and wife, the departmental officials concerned and well-wishers.—MNA /KMA
