Reception held to commemorate Royal Thai Armed Forces Day

The Royal Thai Armed Forces Day reception was held yesterday evening at Novotel Hotel on Pyay Road, Yangon.
Lt-Gen Thet Pon and wife from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and wife, high-ranking military officers, ambassadors from foreign embassies in Yangon, charges d’affaires, military attaches and guests attended the ceremony.
First, Lt-Gen Thet Pon and his wife, high-ranking military officers and guests were welcomed by Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar and military attachés (Army, Navy, Air) and officials.
Afterwards, the reception was opened with national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Thailand. The ambassador gave a welcoming speech followed by the commemorative video of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day. Then, Thai Ambassador Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Lt-Gen Thet Pon and the military attaché cut the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day cake and took documentary group photos with guests. Then, the honorary dinner was hosted by the Thai ambassador and military attaches. — MNA/TS
