SAC Chairman PM Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays homage to Lawkananda Pagoda in Sittway

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SAC members, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Western Command Commander Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo and other officials, paid homage to Presiding Sayadaw Agga Maha Gandhavasaka Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Nanda Thiri of Nanda Yama Pariyatti Monastery in Sittway Township of Rakhine State yesterday evening.
First, the Senior General and his wife paid respect to Sayadaw and reported on the health issue of Sayadaw and religious affairs. He also donated rice, cooking oil, offertories and cash donated by the families of Tatmadaw (army, navy, air).
Then, the Senior General and his wife, and their entourage went to Lawkananda Pagoda in Sittway Township.
First, the Senior General and party were welcomed by the pagoda board of trustees. Then, they paid homage to the pagoda and offered flowers, water and oil lights to the pagoda. The Senior General also signed the guest record book of the pagoda.
The Senior General and his wife presented cash donations for multiple renovations of the pagoda to the members of the pagoda board of trustees. Afterwards, the Senior General observed the renovation work of the pagoda and went round the pagoda by anti-clockwise procession. He also instructed the officials to conduct proper maintenance work for the strength of the pagoda.
The Senior General and wife and party also paid homage to the Sakka Muni Buddha image in Sakka Muni Theindaw (ordination hall) and offered flowers, water and oil lights to the Buddha image and presented cash donations for multiple renovations.
The Senior General also instructed the officials to conduct necessary renovations on the Sakka Muni Theindaw and the Sakka Muni Buddha Image in order that they are pleasant and beautiful. — MNA/KTZH
