Fast service provided to applicants for overseas employment orientation courses, OWICs

The Department of Labour stated that the application for overseas employment training courses and overseas worker identification cards (OWICs) are reviewed and permitted within two or three days.
It is mentioned in the statement of the Labour Department that some brokers and licenced overseas employment agencies advertise on social media offering services for overseas employment training courses and overseas worker identification cards (OWICs) and ask for a large amount of service charges.
It is also found that some brokers and licenced overseas employment agencies submit fake work permits, visas, immigration seals, leave letters of employers, certificates of overseas employment training courses, degree certificates, certificates of skill training courses and applications written in the handwriting of only one person.
The department added that, if the brokers and licenced overseas employment agencies are found submitting fake documents, action will be taken against them as well as the workers who engage with those brokers and agencies.
