A large numbers of students, youths and people participated in the second-day display of 75th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) Independence Day commemorative booths, traditional food booths and decorated floats at Taboung Ground of Nay Pyi Taw Uppatasanti Pagoda yesterday.
The ethnic cultural troupes welcomed participants and shared their knowledge of cultures and traditions of respective regions and states.
Moreover, the decorated floats of Nay Pyi Taw, regions and states and ministries featured the characteristics, traditions and customs of ethnic people, local products and public service activities of the ministries concerned and so the participants observed the event happily.
As a special event, the ethnic traditional choral dance troupes sang and performed in front of their decorated floats and the people joined the dance happily.
Moreover, the traditional food booths and souvenir shops were also crowded with people.
The booths of regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw also displayed scale models of famous pagodas, photos showing customs and traditions, wearing styles, local commodities and foodstuffs, handicrafts and industrial goods, famous recreational sites, well-known persons, cultural heritages and buildings and performance of ministries concerned.
Moreover, the event included drawing lots, quizzes, games and hand-painting programmes.
In the evening, the artistes of MRTV and the Department of Fine Arts and the ethnic traditional choral dance troupes entertained with songs and dances.
Myanmar Police Force also provided security measures by cooperating with Tatmadaw members and Fire Brigade members and the clinics were also opened in case of emergency cases.
The Printing and Publishing Department of the Ministry of Information opened mobile book shops aiming to promote the literary knowledge of the public.
The exhibition comprises 25 booths of ministries, 15 booths of Nay Pyi Taw, regions and states and 15 booths of traditional foods, totalling 55, showing 26 decorated floats from ministries, 15 decorated floats from Nay Pyi Taw and regions and states, a decorated float marking the Independence Day, a Union decorated float and five decorated floats for Tatmadaw, totalling 48.
