MoHT Union Minister attends Asia-Pacific regional meeting online

MoHT Union Minister Dr Htay Aung virtually participates in the Asia-Pacific regional meeting.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung joined the Asia-Pacific regional meeting relating to the International Code for the Protection of Tourists organized by the World Tourism Organization in Spain online yesterday.
During the meeting, the Union Minister said the country sets the policies, laws and frameworks to offer the best services to local and foreign visitors. The tours are being conducted as per the COVID-19 health rules of the Ministry of Health. The government also makes efforts to gain back the trust of travellers and develop the tourism industry in the post-COVID-19 period.
As the International Code for the Protection of Tourists of World Tourism Organization can protect the travellers more, it can achieve the trust of tourists, and the member countries also adopt these codes in a widespread manner.
The meeting by the World Tourism Organization aims to provide assistance to the member countries in resuming the tourism industry and revive the international code and legal framework for the protection of tourists. — MNA
