Union Ministers visit Renera battery production company in Moscow

A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han and Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw along with Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Lwin Oo and officials visited Renera battery production (Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage Systems) company under the Rosatom, Moscow, Russia, on the morning of 16 November.
The Myanmar delegation, led by Union Ministers U Thaung Han and Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, studied the Energy Storage System (commercial power management module) produced by Renera, a company that packs batteries (Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage Systems) under Rosatom, and asked in detail what they wanted to know.
Then, Natalia G. Leonteva, Director of Business Development, gave a brief history of the factory and explained cooperation with foreign countries, lithium-ion based battery manufacturing, planning to expand the production of electric vehicles at the factory, aiming to produce up to 4 GW by 2024, using batteries produced by factories, energy storage and safety aspects of batteries, Energy Storage System (ESS) using electricity obtained from solar energy and wind power, ability to use energy efficiently and stably in factories that use a lot of power in line with the performance of ESS, and conditions of the factory batteries which are widely used in industries, factories and electric cars among others.
Regarding the briefings, the Union Ministers said that they are very grateful to such emphatic clarifications.
They discussed in detail other issues, including the possibility of cooperation and investment in the electrical and industrial works that are currently being carried out for the development of Myanmar.
Energy Storage Systems (ESS) based on lithium-ion are a particularly necessary system for the stable distribution of power in connection with the national power grid system for the solar and wind power plants that are being further expanded as renewable energy in the electricity production sector in Myanmar.
In addition, the country’s goal of being able to use electric vehicles (EVs) is that the battery, which is the main part of the vehicle, is made of lithium-ion so the lifespan and performance of the battery are very high.
It is reported that Russia-Myanmar bilateral cooperation in the electricity sector will greatly contribute to friendly cooperation.
The Myanmar delegation left for Saint Petersburg by speed train 772 A through Leningradskiy railway station in the afternoon local time. — MNA
