Thai authorities repatriate 190 Myanmar nationals via Kawthoung

A total of 190 Myanmar nationals, who were detained for various reasons in Thailand, returned to Myanmar via Kawthoung on 28 October.
One hundred and forty-three males and 47 females were handed over by Thai immigration officials from Ranong of Thailand to Myanmar officials in Kawthoung. Then, Migrant Resource Centre-MRC provided personal goods to them.
Medical staff and Red Cross members checked them with an RDT Test Kit. Female returnees will quarantine at the Khamaukgyi quarantine centre and male returnees at the quarantine centre in Pulaw Township respectively. Those returnees are under surveillance for five days at quarantine centres. Then, they will be sent to their home unless they are infected.
A total of 178 Myanmar migrant workers, who were charged and stranded in Thailand for various reasons, were repatriated to Kawthoung via Ranong, Thailand by boat on 21 October. A total of 56 Myanmar migrant workers also arrived back in Tachilek Township on 21 October. — TWA/GNLM
