Illegal teak, foodstuff, motorcycles spare parts and vehicles seized

Under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, illegal trade is effectively prevented and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
A joint inspection team led by the Regional Forest Department under the management of the Special Task Force carried out inspections on 12 October.
A total of 0.9088 tonnes of illegal teakwood (estimated value of K599,808) was seized in the yard of a house in Htein Pin Myaung Village, Kyangin Township, Hinthada District and action is being taken in accordance with the Forest Law.
According to the report, the Special Anti-Illegal Task Force carried out inspections on 14 October, and BUD BEER, MUHAK SOJU and SPY WINE (estimated value 50,529,440 Kyats) which are not able to present official document proof inside a warehouse in Kanthayar Ward, Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay Region were seized.
Similarly, DUNFIFE Blended Scotch Whiskey and Fortant De France Skalli Wine (estimated value of 80,965,600 Kyats) were seized inside a house in Hemazala Ward, Chanayethazan Township, without valid documents being presented.
Thus, a total of (estimated value of 131,495,040 Kyats) were seized and action is being taken in accordance with the customs procedure.
Also, on 15 October, Under the management of the Special Anti-Illegal Task Force, a combine inspection team of Kayin State conducted inspections at the Tadarkyo Combined Checkpoint and seized motorcycle tires aboard one vehicle (estimated value of K1.5 million) that were not declared on the import declaration (ID) and actions are being taken in accordance with customs procedures.
In addition, a combined inspection team of Kachin State led by the Forest Department of Mohnyin Township under the management of the Special Anti-Illegal Task Force conducted regular inspections.
Next, 1.388 tonnes of illegal timber (estimated value of K458,040) was seized from one vehicle near milepost number (191/0), Shwebo-Myitkyina Union Highway, about 4 furlongs from the exit of Nyaungkai Village, Mohnyin Township and action is being taken in accordance with the Forest Law.
In addition, under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Special Team of Sagaing Region, a joint inspection team seized one unlicensed TOYOTA KLUGER vehicle and one TOYOTA IPSUM vehicle (estimated value of K10.5 million) at Kyweye Police combined checkpoint in Monywa, on 16 October, and is taking action in accordance with the Export Import Law.
Again, inspection was carried out by a combined inspection team led by the Regional Forest Department under the management of the special anti-illegal task force in Bago Region.
During inspection, a total of 31.9742 tonnes (estimated value of K11,825,664) of illegal timber was seized in Toungoo District and Nyaunglebin District and Thayawady District, and action is being taken in accordance with the Forest Law.
Therefore, total number of arrests on 12, 14, 15, and 16 October were 13 cases approximately K156,378,552 according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.—MNA
