Myanmar teams win medals in 11th ASEAN Para Games

The Myanmar Paralympic Team, which is competing in the 11th ASEAN Para Games in Indonesia, won one gold medal, two silver medals and two bronze medals in athletics and swimming on the first day of the competition yesterday.
The Myanmar sports team participated in the athletics competition held at Manahan Ground and the swimming competition held at Jaditari Swimming Pool yesterday. Htet Htet Aye won a gold medal in discus event. In the women’s 100m race, Laura Win won the silver medals and Aung Myint Myat won one bronze medal in the men’s 100m race.
Similarly, Aung Bhone won one gold medal in the 100m backstroke swimming competition. Soe Win won another third bronze medal in the 400m freestyle and Kyaw Htoo won the silver medal in the 50m backstroke, respectively. The 11th Asian Paralympic Games are being held with a variety of sports, and the Myanmar sports teams are participating in athletics, archery, goal ball, swimming, football, sitting volleyball and weightlifting competitions.—Bala Soe/GNLM
