Myanmar joins 23rd ASEAN SCC, 11th ASEAN+3 APTCCN meetings

The 23rd ASEAN SCC and the eleventh ASEAN+3 APTCCN meetings are underway.

The meetings of the 23rd ASEAN Sub-Committee on Culture (SCC) and the 11th ASEAN Plus Three Cultural Cooperation Network-APTCCN were held in Kuching, Malaysia on 27 and 28 July.
Myanmar acted as alternate vice-chairman of these meetings and SOMCA Leader U Aung Myint, Director-General of the Department of Historical Research and National Library and representatives attended the meetings.
During the meetings, ASEAN member countries and ASEAN plus three countries conferred their opinions concerning over 50 projects that will be executed through the collaboration between ASEAN’s tradition and arts traditional food, archaeological museum and libraries, ensuring mutual respect for culture, history, religions and social progress of ASEAN countries, the mutual recognition of diversity among those countries in order to strengthen unity and make people realize ASEAN’s awareness.
Myanmar will hold the upcoming meeting of the 24th ASEAN Sub-Committee on Culture (SCC) and the 12th ASEAN Plus Three Cultural Cooperation Network-APTCCN as a host in 2023. — MNA
