MoHT Union Minister conducts field study in Shan State

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung inspected the Information Counter of Heho Airport in Shan State and attended the meeting of Kalaw Hill Resort Implementation Committee in Taunggyi Township together with Shan State Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun on 2 May.
During the meeting, the Union Minister talked about creating a tourist city by organizing a committee under the estimated budget and the need to conserve the natural environment in developing the Htinshuu city.
He highlighted the need to conduct the systematic measures as Kalaw possesses a proper history and climate, cooperates with government, private and locals and conducts service training for the people with disabilities in Kalaw.
He then inspected the garbage cleaning campaign in the Inlay Lake by boat. He met tourism entrepreneurs and the head of the Irrigation Department and gave the award to Aureum Hotel Resort and Spa, which won ASEAN Green Hotel Standard Award at ASEAN Tourism Forum 2022 held in Cambodia in 2022, and National Health and Safety Protocol Certificates to three hotels.
Yesterday, the Union Minister attended the Barrier Free Tourism Service Training held at Kalaw Development Committee Hall.
During the event, he highlighted the launching of tour guide training courses to ensure job opportunities for locals, calling for Accessible Tourism, Barrier Free Tourism for the disabled, and providing materials for the disabled in their tours and further work plans.
The training was joined by the hotel staff and tour guides living in Kalaw and Pindaya townships. — MNA
