Coordinating meeting of MraukU Cultural Heritage Site to be inscribed on World Heritage List held

A coordination meeting of the issues to be done in advance with locals for MraukU Cultural Heritage Site in Rakhine State to be inscribed on the World Heritage List was held at MraukU Branch Conference Hall of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum on 31 March.
In the meeting, Deputy Director-General for the Department of Archaeology and National Museum U Nyo Myint Htun clarified conducting the necessary processes to be inscribed on the World Heritage List and conducting the clean-up campaign in MraukU Archaeological Site and the participation of the locals in awareness-raising activities.
In addition, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum U Nyo Myint Htun added a beautiful photo exhibition of the MraukU Cultural Heritage Site to be held and the videos of MraukU’s social, cultural and archaeological sites to describe not only in the English language but also in Rakhine and Myanmar languages and to distribute with the participation of the locals.
Deputy Director-General of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum U Nyo Myint Tun, members of MraukU District Administration Body, District General Administration Department and township officials, local heads, social organizations and officials attended the meeting.
District and township officials, members of social organizations, and the Pagoda Board of Trustees also participated in the discussions. — MNA
