Two jailed for sending man to fishing bamboo raft business, exploiting wages

Two men were sentenced to five years in prison with labour under Sections 25/32 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law on 18 March.
Hein Zaw Tun and Zaw Htike were found guilty for sending a man, who lived in Kawhmu, Yangon Region, to fishing bamboo raft business in Pyapon, Ayeyawady Region, and exploiting his wages.
They lured him into working in the business by saying that it paid well and that he could have K400,000 in advance, as well as he could be sent free of charge. It is reported that a case was filed against them under Sections 25/32 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law at the Dala Myoma Police Station and the South District Court passed the judgement. — MNA
