MoEE Union Minister inspects operation of Nyaungdon/Maubin oilfield in Ayeyawady region

Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo, along with Minister for Natural Resources of the Ayeyawady Region Government, inspected the operation of the Nyaungdon/Maubin oilfield in Ayeyawady Region on 6 March.
During the inspection, the acting manager of the oilfield explained the location of the oilfield, production and distribution of oil and natural gas, drilling of new wells to increase the production, education, health, and socio-economic development activities for villages and communities around oil and gas fields, the repair and construction of fuel tank and pipelines.
The Union minister said to carry out digging new wells for more oil and gas production, to make the living conditions of the employees comfortable, to develop new dunes, to complete the construction of 10 inches (55) miles Nyaungdon-Thaboung pipeline in time, to save the state budget, to efficiently use the electricity, and to coordinate with relevant departments in construction of pipelines.
The Nyaungdon /Maubin oil and gas field produces 70 barrels of condensate and 22.5 million cubic feet natural gas per day and transports the oil to the Petrochemical Factory Group (Thamparakan) refinery to produce the necessary motor oil for the country.
In addition, natural gas from the area is distributed to the fertilizer plant (Myaungtagar, Kangyidaunt, liquefied natural gas plant (Nyaungdon), factories and workshops in Yangon Region, and CNG vehicles in the public transport sector.
Afterwards, the Union minister and party inspected the production of the LPG plant (Nyaungdon) and gave necessary orders. — MNA
