Over 286,000 people in Mdy receive CSCs in 9 months through Pankhinn project

Authorities are providing citizenship scrutiny cards to the public under the Pankhinn project in the Mandalay region. So far, over 286,000 people from Mandalay Region have already received CSCs in 9 months, said U Zaw Win Myint, the deputy head of Mandalay Region Office, under the Ministry of Immigration and Population.
Authorities have targeted to issue citizenship cards to a total of 380,016 people from 28 townships in the Mandalay region under the Pankhinn project. This project has started carrying out on 3 May 2021. By the end of January 2022, more than 286,000 people from over 15,600 households from 8 townships were received ID cards. The remaining of the over 93,700 people will accept so soon.
“To complete the project as soon as possible, the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Mandalay is providing public awareness to the people in numerous ways. More than 560,000 pamphlets were distributed in the wards and village-tracts from 28 townships. Besides, the awareness talks are also being conducted by the LED billboard trucks in the wards and townships. The Pankhinn project is one of the most unique projects that the ministry has ever done. Authorities will issue the ID and household registration to citizens after attaining 18 years old. Under the Pankhinn project, the project is funded by the State budget to cover the cost of photography and blood tests for the people who apply for the citizen ID and household registration,” he added.
There are 28 townships in 7 districts in the Mandalay region. So far, eight townships have completed the Pankhinn project by the end of January. Those townships are Meiktila, Mahlaing, Thazi, Yamethin, Pyawbwe, Patheingyi, Kyaukpadaung and Mogok townships.
The CSCs are issued under various projects to ensure the socio-economic security of the people. This project will last till 3 November in Mandalay region, it is learnt. — Min Htet Aung (Mandalay Sub-Printing House)/GNLM
