In a bid to facilitate transportation and reduce the delay, the Inland Water Transport (Delta Division) add one more car ferry on the Yangon Wadan-Dala car ferry route, said an official of the division.
“Ferry service grew in recent days. A ferry has to carry approximately 350 vehicles per day. A ferry can hold 30 small cars or 20 large trucks. Ferry service schedules depend on the number of vehicles,” an official added.
The ferry on the Yangon Wadan-Dala route was plying to and from the ports between 6 am and 6:45 pm. The division adds more timetables to transport more motor vehicles. The Pansodan-Dala Port is the only gateway to local people in southern Yangon-Dala, Twantay, Kawhmu and Kungyangon townships and some townships in Ayeyawady Region to link with the commercial city hub of Yangon. The service contributes to the health and socio-economic development of the local community. — Ko Naing (Bago)/GNLM
