Basic education schools reopened in Mandalay

Primary schools in Mandalay Region have been temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Now that the number of infections has dropped, primary schools have been allowed to reopen since yesterday.
Teachers measured body temperature for students at school entrances. Teachers also distributed ready-made masks and supervised handwashing at the school basins.
COVID- 19 epidemic education posters are also posted in public places to raise health awareness. It is learned that the Myanmar Police Force was responsible for the security outside the school.
Currently, teachers are accepting students who have not been enrolled during the enrollment week for various reasons so that they do not lose their rights to study and will be accepted for up to three weeks.
For the successful reopening of primary schools, authorities have organized seating in the classrooms following the COVID-19 rules. The pandemic prevention programs were set up in schools and school renovations are being carried out in advance.

Students aged 12 and above in Mandalay Region have been vaccinated against COVID-19 for the school reopening, authorities said.
In Mandalay Region, basic education schools were opened on 1 June for the 2021-2022 academic year, and schools were temporarily closed on 9 July due to the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
The number of infections has gradually decreased and thus primary schools have been allowed to reopen.
There are a total of 4,821 schools including 4,263 basic education schools, 241 private schools and 317 monastic schools in the region. — Maung Aye Chan/GNLM
