Russia, Myanmar discuss boosting agricultural exports

Delegations from Russia and Myanmar hold talks to boost agro exports yesterday.

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi met Mr Andrei Lunak at the Union Minister’s Office yesterday and discussed ways to increase agricultural exports in bilateral trade.
At the meeting, the Deputy Minister discussed issues related to the possibility of increasing the export of new items such as rice, legumes, sesame crops, mango, cucumber, pineapple, butter, fish, and shrimp to Russia.
They also discussed crops technology and research on livestock and fish production development, the production of agricultural products, Russian business ventures in logistics and storage, Myanmar’s National Food Safety and Nutrition, and issues for cooperation in the food security programme.
Exports of Myanmar’s seafood (Pangasius and Vanamie) to Russia, and Russia’s imports of artemia, live foods for shrimp, were also discussed. — MNA
