498 returnees from Thailand repatriated through Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge

A total of 498 Myanmar returnees from Thailand returned through the Myanmar-Thail Friendship Bridge (2), Myawady on 4 October.
Myanmar citizens who want to return home are being welcomed back starting from 1 August.
From 26 September, the number of Myanmar returnees has increased from 200 a day to 500 a day.
The returnees are welcomed back by the authorities followed by giving COVID-19 knowledge and collecting necessary data.
After that, officials sent all the returnees to the respective quarantine centres in Myawady.
Officials also arranged free transportation for all the returnees by vehicle to their respective regions and states.
On 4 October, a total of 498 returnees: 255 males and 243 females from various regions and states came back home through the border crossing. —Htein Lin Aung/GNLM
