Construction minister, Nay Pyi Taw council chairman inspect Sittoung bridge construction

Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay and Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr Maung Maung Naing inspected Mya Sein Yaung Myitta bridge’s construction on Thaphanpin-Nyaungpintha road and Kyotpintha-Paunglaung bridge over the Sittoung River yesterday morning in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
During an inspection tour to the Mya Sein Yaung Myitta bridge, the Bridges Department Deputy Director-General explained that it would be easier and faster to travel to Shan and Kayah states and beneficial to the regions. The Union Minister instructed them to pay attention to the site’s safety and quality. The Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman called for taking measures to protect the nearby villages from river erosion and changes in river flow.
Afterwards, they arrived at the construction site of the Kyotpintha-Paunglaung bridge and inspected the construction works.
The Mya Sein Yaung Myitta bridge is 1,200 feet long and 20 feet wide. With a two-lane reinforced concrete type, the Department of Bridges, Bridge Task Force (6) constructs it with the Union capital fund. The Department of Rural Road Development is building the 600-foot-long and 20-foot-wide Kyotpintha-Paunglaung bridge over the Sittoung River with the capital fund of the Nay Pyi Taw Council. — IPRD/GNLM
