86.9 kilogrammes of heroin seized in Mandalay

A total of 86.9 kilogrammes of heroin worth K2.17 billion were seized in Pyigyidagun Township in Mandalay Region, as stated by the Myanmar Police Force.
A combined team consisting of the anti-narcotics police stopped and searched a Toyota Probox and a Super Custom on the 71st (C) street, between 114 and 115 street, Pyigyidagun Township, Mandalay, at 3 pm on 5 July, and 22 kilogrammes of heroin were seized from Soe Khaing, Nang Aye Phoung, Nang Yein Aong and Tun Lin Aung on the Super Custom vehicle.
According to further inspection, 64.9 kilogrammes of heroin were also confiscated from a house situated at 71st Street, G/2 Ward, Chanmyathazi Township, where Tun Lin Aung lives as a tenant.
As a result of the two arrests, 86.9 kilogrammes of heroin with a total local value of K2.17 billion were seized, and according to the investigation, the seized heroin was transported from Shan State to Mandalay Region.
Legal action has been taken against them, and the perpetrators of chain crimes are being investigated. — MNA/KZL
