800 fires break out nationwide in 4 months this year

According to the Department of Fire Services, there have been a total of 800 fires across the country in the first four months of this year. The fires resulted in 51 deaths and 101 injuries.
Additionally, 1,900 houses, six factories and 120 warehouses were damaged, leaving 4,542 people homeless and causing 2,984 livestock deaths. The total loss caused by the fires amounted to K11 billion.
In 2022, there were a total of 1,570 fire outbreaks, resulting in 96 deaths and 139 injuries. Within that period, 3,580 buildings, eight factories and 296 warehouses were destroyed. The majority of the incidents occurred in Yangon and Mandalay Regions. — TWA/MKKS
