689 suspects including Thai, Chinese, Myanmar involved in online gambling games, financial scams arrested

A total of 689 suspects — 148 Thai nationals, one Chinese and 540 Myanmar nationals — were arrested for running online gambling games and financial scams in Tachilek yesterday.
Following a tip-off, the security forces and Myanmar Police Force raided a compound owned by Kyaw Thein (aka) Khun Maung Nyo in Tonaya street of Samseng (A) Ward of Tachilek in Shan State (East) at 5:15 am yesterday and arrested 689 suspects together with eight vehicles, 120 motorcycles and desktop computers. The foreigners will be transferred to their respective countries after the procedures, and Myanmar nationals will face legal action under the law. — MNA/KTZH
