30th Pakokku Literary Award Ceremony on 24 August

The Pakokku Literary Award Fund Supervisory Committee has announced that the 30th Pakokku Literary Award Ceremony will be held on 24 August, following the announcement of the award winners for the respective genres on 1 June.
According to the announcement, Sayagyi U Khin Aung (Shwebo Bamahti Khin Aung) and U Tint Lwin (Tet Lu) have won the Lifetime Literary Award. In the novel genre, author Nyein Nyo won the second prize, while Nay Soe Thaw received the third prize. In the collected short stories genre, Ameithar (Natmauk) won the first prize, Ko Ni Thway (Mann Myo) won the second prize, and Tun Hlaing (Myaing) won the third prize.
In the collected poem genre, Kaung Nwe won the first prize, Shwe Minthar (Sagaing) won the second prize, and Kanaung Naing Nwe Oo received the third prize. In the treatise genre, Ko Toe (Yankin) won the first prize, U Win Myint Maung (Linn Aryon Oo) won the second prize, and Thet Oo Maung received the third prize.
In the research genre, Marn Thit Nyein (Archaeology) won the first prize, Ko Zaw Htay (Culture) won the second prize, and Lat Yar (Myitta Tagun) won the third prize.
The Pakokku Scholarship Award was offered to Ma Thant Phyu Phyu Tun (second-year painting) and Maung Min Thu Han Kyaw (second-year painting), both from the University of National Culture and Arts (Yangon and Mandalay).
The award conferred by the Pakokku U Ohn Pe Library went to Khin Maung Win (Anyamyay). The cash prizes are K1 million for the Pakokku Literary Award for Lifetime Achievement, K700,000 for the first prize, K500,000 for the second prize, and K400,000 for the third prize.
Winners must contact the chief editor of Sarpay Beikman and the administration section. The date and venue of the prize presentation ceremony will be announced later. — TWA/TRKM
