2,446 traffic accidents causing 1,299 deaths nationwide during seven months

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, 2,446 traffic accidents caused 1,299 deaths in the country during the seven months of this year.
These accidents, which occurred from January to July, resulted in an average of 12 incidents per day and caused 3,492 injuries. The majority of the accidents occurred in Yangon Region, where there were 503 incidents, killing 264 and wounding 557. Additionally, 115 accidents on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway left 61 dead and 216 hurt.
However, compared to the same period last year — when there were 2,858 accidents, 1,504 deaths, and 4,020 injuries — the number of road accidents and fatalities has decreased slightly. — TWA/TRKM
