2024 Inter-State/Region U-21 Men’s Football Tournament opens

An opening ceremony of the 2024 Inter-State and Region U-21 Men’s Football Tournament was held at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, attended by State Administration Council members.
During the ceremony, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, who is also a chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, said that Myanmar Football Federation and club officials will visit these competitions and select talented athletes for elite teams and clubs. He urged all the athletes to try their best.
The Union minister then opened the ceremony, followed by the athletes reciting the four sports oaths. SAC members, Union ministers, and officials enjoyed the opener between the Nay Pyi Taw team and the Ayeyawady team.
The tournament is held with the aim of promoting Myanmar football to reach a new height and success at the ASEAN and Asian levels. The football matches will be played at Wunna Theikdhi, Paung Laung and Lewei football turfs from 23 July to 8 August, with 15 participating teams. Fans can enjoy the matches for free. — MNA/KZL
