2024 Inter-State/ Region Taekwondo Championship concludes

Final matches plus the awarding ceremony of the 2024 Inter-State/Region Taekwondo Championship was held at Wunna Theikdhi Gymnasium A in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
State Administration Council members also attended the ceremony and enjoyed the final matches of men’s and women’s Taekwondo events.
Union Ministers Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U Min Thein Zan and Dr Myo Thein Kyaw presented medals and cash awards to first, second, joint third prize winners of 49-53 kilogrammes women’s attacking event, 68-74 kilos men’s attacking event and 43-46 kilos women’s attacking event.
Next, State Administration Council Members U Yan Kyaw, U Shwe Kyein and Khun San Lwin presented awards to the winners of 46-50 kilos men’s attacking event, 50-54 kilos men’s attacking event and 54-58 competition men’s attacking event.
Afterwards, State Administration Council Members Dr Ba Shwe and Dr Hmu Thang presented medals and cash prizes to the best athletes in both men’s and women’s competitions.
In the meantime, State Administration Council Member Mahn Nyein Maung presented a championship trophy to the Yangon Region men’s team. State Administration Council member Porel Aung Thein also presented another championship trophy to the Yangon Region women’s team.
Finally, State Administration Council Member Daw Dwe Bu gave the championship trophy to the mixed event winners Yangon Region team.
The tourney, featuring 263 athletes from 15 men’s and 15 women’s teams, was held from 17 to 21 June in Nay Pyi Taw with the aim of promoting the Taekwondo sport across Myanmar. — MNA/KZL
