2 gold medallists back from Altai Regatta Dragon Festival

Team Myanmar returned to Yangon yesterday morning after bagging two gold medals, securing first spot in the Altai Regatta Dragon Festival held on 30 June in Barnaul, Russia.
Myanmar squad won the two golds in the 200-metre and 500-metre events, but in the 2,000-metre race, the Myanmar rowers tried their best, but they were satisfied with sixth place as a result.
A total of 13 teams, including Myanmar, host Russia, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia and Uzbekistan competed in the tourney. The Myanmar team includes 12 athletes led by U Thaung Htike Min, president of the Myanmar Rowing Federation and two coaches. — Arkar Linn/KZL
