Misinformation: Five villages in Myingyan burned down by security forces

Malicious news media outlets are spreading false information on social networking sites that Nyaungto Village, Kyunkai Village, Yantapo Village and Sin Chaung Village were burned down by members of the Joint Security Forces conducting area security operations in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, on 21 April, and more than 300 houses were destroyed due to the fire.
According to a report from a local resident who does not accept terrorist activities, terrorists in Myingyan Township are collecting money and food from these villages and forcibly recruiting and arbitrarily arresting and torturing the local people by attacking with large and small weapons.
Joint security forces are conducting area security in order to prevent PDF terrorists from entering the towns and villages in Mandalay Region and carrying out terrorist acts. But subversive news media intentionally conspire to create fear and misrepresentation of the security forces with false information. — MNA/KZL
