Kachin State Chief Minister assists IDPs

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan met with displaced people from Waing Maw Township of Myitkyina District in Kachin State who are taking refuge in St Joseph (RC) camp on Wednesday evening.

During the meeting, the chief minister encouraged them and provided arrangements to meet their needs as soon as possible.

Then, the chief minister and officials provided K10 million for 126 households, including 517 population who temporarily fled from Shwenyaungpin, Aungmyay 1 and 2, Naungsipaw, Kazu, Dabbyan, Gahrayan, Tarlawgyi, Kharshi, Naungpatain and Wahshao villages of Waingmaw Township.

In-charge persons from the camp and people reported their needs and difficulties, and the chief minister and party made proper arrangements.

Then, the chief minister and officials inspected the construction of temporary shelters in the compound of RC church in Makhoyan village for additional households reported by the in-charges of the camps and provided K15.6 million.

On arrival at the Myitkyina Township, they viewed round the additional crop cultivation in the Balaminhtin Model Plantation field. — IPRD/KTZH
