421 EPS Myanmar workers sent to ROK on E-9 visas in April

Through the government’s Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), another 421 new workers were sent to the Republic of Korea in April, according to the Myanmar Embassy in the Republic of Korea.
A total of 179 Myanmar workers, including 173 new manufacturing workers and six new construction workers, arrived at Incheon International Airport on 30 April via Myanmar National Airlines UB 8301 (charter flight) from Yangon. Labour attaché from the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul welcomed the workers upon their arrival at Incheon, instructed them on what they needed to know and follow, and provided them with necessary assistance.
Moreover, 193 Myanmar workers, including 172 new manufacturing workers and 21 new construction workers, arrived at Incheon International Airport on Myanmar National Airlines UB 8301 (charter flight) from Yangon on 9 April

According to the embassy, 1,333 EPS workers and 862 EPS workers on E-9 visas were sent to the Republic of Korea in February and March, respectively, including new workers for agriculture, livestock breeding, construction and manufacturing sectors.
The recruitment of Myanmar workers in the Republic of Korea’s service sector will be extended to both men and women in the 16th TOPIK Test, the 7th marking employment system which will be held in 2024, and this first-time recruitment of women who have passed the matriculation exam has attracted a lot of interest, according to the training schools. — MT/ZN/ED
