The 32nd National Monsoon Forum in progress yesterday.

The opening ceremony of the 32nd National Monsoon Forum 2024 was held at the Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre, Nay Pyi Taw. It was organized by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), the Ministry of Transport and Communications yesterday.
Director-General Dr Kyaw Moe Oo of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology delivered the opening remarks. Departmental representatives from the Disaster Management, Agriculture Department, Water and other related departments and participants from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, totalling 70, attended the forum.
The forum discussed reviewing seasonal outlook for the weather and water level forecasts in the 2024 rainy season (southwest monsoon period), condition of agro-meteorology, terms and terminology of meteorology, seismic disaster in Myanmar, presenting on sectorial lessons learned during the 2023-2024 winter season (northeast monsoon period), sectorial preparedness for the 2024 southwest monsoon season and suggestions for seasonal weather forecasts. — MNA
