The second round of Group A matches for the 2024 season of the Myanmar National League Cup will start today, as stated by the Myanmar Football Federation.
Yangon United will take on Shwepyitha United at the Yangon United Sports Complex today, while Maha United will face University FC at Thuwunna Stadium.
After the round one matches, Yangon United collected 12 points while Maha United garnered nine points, University FC earned three points, and Shwepyitha United did not score any. With all wins in Group A, Yangon United has the best chance to advance to the semifinal as the team faces the bottommost team, Shwepyitha. In the first round, Yangon trounced team Shwepyitha 7-0, while Maha United faced a loss to Yangon United.
As Maha United lost to Yangon United in the last match of the first round, so there is a difference of three points, and only if Maha can get a good result in the second round matches they will be able to continue to put pressure on Yangon team.
